Abstract

The relationships between growth traits, Body Weight (BW) and some Linear Body Measurements (LBM) namely; Shank length (SL), Body Height (BH), Body Length (BL), Thigh Length (TL) and Neck Circumference (NC) were studied in two hundred and forty (240) growing cockerels of the Nera, Bovan, Harco and the Local Nigerian strains. Data collected from day-old to 28 weeks of age were analyzed to obtain phenotypic correlation (rp) and to predict appropriate equations that could be modeled in estimating each growth trait. Growth traits showed increment with age and were accompanied by highly significant (P
